Telecoms, Media and Technology are key sectors for Rothschild and we enjoy a market leading position as an advisor to companies in this field.

In Telecoms we have worked with most incumbents as well as with a significant number of altnets and their respective shareholders for wireless and fixed line projects. Moreover we have advised on a significant number of transactions in the ISP and Online field, as well as on transactions in the cable-TV, satellite, wireless and tower infrastructure sub-sectors. We are also a pre-eminent adviser in the emerging markets for transactions in these sectors.

In Media we have long-standing experience from advising in all sub-sectors: In publishing, we have worked on transactions in the areas of newspapers, magazines, professional, business and educational publishing as well as directories. In cable-TV we have been mandated in transactions for all major German operators since the sale of the Deutsche Telekom networks and have extensive experience in other European markets. Our experience in broadcasting and content covers Free-TV and Pay-TV, as well as TV channels and production, rights and radio broadcasting and cinema. We have also advised on a number of transactions in advertising as well as market research and other market services, and developed expertise in Online, Interactive and Gaming.

In Technology our experience covers the underlying technology for all of those sub-sectors, ranging from hardware to software to (IT) services.
